Guess this puts the saying "living in a shoe box" into perspective...

Having lived in New York City, I completely understand the importance of location when talking about where people live in the Big Apple. Of course, price and square footage are factors too, but location is key.

Meet this guy. He's a twenty-something Chef that lives in the Upper West Side...in a 100-square foot apartment that costs $1,100 a month!! What?!?

The main room is 11-by-7 and one corner is taken up by a shower. There's a tiny bathroom that barely fits a toilet and he uses a TV tray as his kitchen table.
