Residents of North Texas were greeted with a "Howdy" from a 9-foot alligator this week.

According to NBC in Dallas, a lake manager of Lake Lewisville found the gator downstream from a nearby dam. Because the area is usually blocked off from the public, there wasn't much concern to remove it.

In fact, since the area is secluded, it's not entirely uncommon to find an alligator, just not one of this size.

Meanwhile, everyone in Louisiana is begging for a gator sighting. Or at least I am.
