As just about everybody in the ArkLaTex knows, the long needed repair work on the Jimmie Davis Bridge has been called off yet again. According to the state's Department of Transportation and Development and PCL Contractors of Florida, the latest delay is due to neither side being able to agree on the cost of "bird migration", i.e., the expense of keeping the federally protected barn swallows from building nests on the underside of the structure.

But anonymous sources say that PCL bowed out after informing the DOTD that the bridge was in need of much more repair than the state's budget would cover.

So, our friends at Twin Blends Photography sent a drone southward down the Red to take a look at the part of the JDB no one ever sees...unless you're a barn swallow.
