Mother's Day is hard for me. In 2001, when I was just twenty-five years old, my mother lost her battle with cancer.

In this day and age, twenty-five is young to lose your mom, and in the fifteen years since, there have been a few times I really could have used my mother's wisdom, advice, and probably even a smack upside my head.

I still have mothers in my life whom I celebrate. My children's mothers, my sister-in-law, friends, co-workers, and even my listeners get a heart felt "Happy Mother's Day" from me, because you all deserve it.

But what I wouldn't give for a second chance to tell my mom face-to-face what she means to me.

I know there are some people out there who are without their Mamas this Mother's Day, and I just want you to know that I understand, and I wish that your mothers were here too for you to hug one more time. Celebrate all the Moms in your life, and keep that special place in your heart warm for your mom. You'll meet again, but until then, read this poem that my brother posted on Facebook this morning. I don't know where he got it, but it touched me, and made me think of Mom even more. I hope you enjoy it.
