Grover Cannon, the man accused of shooting and killing Shreveport Police Officer Thomas LaValley was back in court Wednesday morning. Cannon's sanity hearing was scheduled to take place but the proceedings were delayed because Cannon refused to cooperate with doctors.

Cannon faces 4 charges including 1st degree murder and attempted 2nd degree murder. The State has already filed a motion stating that if Cannon is convicted, they intend to seek the death penalty. Cannon is due back in court October 17th to continue with his sanity hearing. His jury trial is set to begin February 7th, 2017.
