Heartbreak pays. Just ask Adele.

Her best-selling heartbreak chronicle ’21′ is a real, uh, chartbreaker, too. The album’s latest single ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ just bumped Rihanna‘s smash ‘We Found Love’ from the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and marks the album’s third No. 1, following ‘Rolling in the Deep’ and ‘Someone Like You.’

The album also notched its 17th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. That means she has tied country crooner (and Miley‘s dad) Billy Ray Cyrus, who previously held the record for his 1992-released ‘Some Gave All’ album. Looks like Billy Ray Cyrus’ record is about to fall, courtesy of an English rose with a powerhouse voice. Remember, though, Cyrus also knew a thing or two about heartbreak, as the album was driven by his infectious, guilty pleasure single ‘Achy Breaky Heart.’ No, it’s no ‘Someone Like You,’ but the sentiment is there. Sort of.

If ’21′ holds on and hits No. 1 for four more weeks, which is feasible given the bump it should get due to Grammy hype and hoopla, it will pass Whitney Houston-lead ‘The Bodyguard’ soundtrack, which lodged at No. 1 for 20 weeks in 1993.

Like we said, heartbreak is paying off incredible dividends for Adele.
