The Grammy winning singer and song writer, Adele, recently underwent microsurgery on her vocal cords to remove a benign polyp.

The surgery took place at Massachusetts General Hospital by Dr. Steven Zeitels. Dr. Zeitels is purported by the hospital to have had pioneered many surgical procedures that are used on the vocal cords of singers. The hospital wouldn't say when the surgery took place.

In the past week or so the media has gone rampant with rumors that the singer had throat cancer which she emphatically denied. In fact, a spokesperson from Adele's camp made the statement "We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a haemorrhaged vocal cord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false."

Adele is expected to make a full recovery and should be rescheduling the tour dates that she had to cancel earlier this year.
