Adele might only have two albums in her discography so far, but she’s already engraved her name in music history — this is further evidenced by the influential artists whose records she’s been blowing past since dropping ’21.’

After sitting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts for 23 weeks (before she was dethroned by Bruce Springsteen‘s ‘Wrecking Ball’) Ms. Adkins’ Grammy-winning album has broke yet another record, surpassing Pink Floyd‘s ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ as the No. 7 best-selling album in the U.K.

Although we’re sure Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason (RIP, Richard Wright) aren’t too torn up that a songstress as dazzling as Adele overtook them, it’s quite a feat considering 1973′s ‘Dark Side’ moved more than 4,116,000 copies in the U.K. However, ’21′ seems to be unstoppable, because in just over a year, the album has sold over 4,142,000 copies in Adele’s homeland of Great Britain.

According to the Official Charts Company‘s Managing Director, Martin Talbot, Adele is also poised to overtake the No. 6 album, Dire Straits‘ ‘Brothers in Arms,’ in the next week or so. ”As every week goes by, another record seems to tumble in front of Adele,” Talbot said. “…By the end of the week, it may well have overtaken ‘Brothers in Arms,’ too. Then she will have Michael Jackson‘s ‘Thriller’ in her sights. It has been an extraordinary 12 months or so for Adele, and it looks set to become even more extraordinary as the days and weeks go by.”

Aside from ‘Brothers in Arms’ and ‘Thriller’ (No. 5 on the list), Adele would have to beat out Oasis’ ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’ (at No. 4 with 4,520,000 copies sold), Abba’s greatest hits album ‘Gold’ (No. 3 with 4,992,000 copies sold), the Beatles‘ ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ (at No. 2 with 5,045,000 copies sold), and, finally, Queen‘s ‘Greatest Hits,’ which is dominating at No. 1 with more than 5,864,000 copies moved. Stay tuned to see if she can top these records!
