Erin Bullock just keeps racking up the accolades.  Earlier this year she was named Airline High School Student Of The Year.  Then she won Bossier Parish Student of the Year.  On top of that she was named a National Merit Scholar Finalist.

The requirements for being chosen as a National Merit Scholar Finalist are rigorous. To enter the competition, students must take the the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.  About 1.5 million students enter the competition annually. According to the National Merit Scholarship Program, semifinalists are the highest-scoring program entrants in each state and represent the top 0.5% percent of the state’s senior students.

Once chosen a semifinalist, students must enter the finalist phase of the competition by submitting a detailed scholarship application listing their achievements, both academic and extracurricular, along with any awards they've received and what leadership positions they've held.  They also must be endorsed by an official from the school.  Only a select group of finalists, amounting to fewer than 1% of the initial number of entrants, are chosen to receive a National Merit Scholarship.  The National Merit Scholarships that are awarded total nearly $35 million.

Now on top of this impressive list of accolades, Erin has been chosen as Regional Student Of The Year.  She is now one of just four finalists in the running for the title of Louisiana High School Student Of The Year!

Way to go, Erin!  You make us proud!
