Amazon To Start Taxing Louisiana Shoppers

According to the Times-Picayune, Amazon.com will start collecting sales taxes on all purchases shipped to Louisiana starting January 1st.

Not only will Amazon be collecting the state sales tax but they will also charge any local sales taxes and fees residents would pay in a brick and mortar store. Louisiana is pushing all major online retailers to collect and remit required sales taxes in 2017.
