When it comes to the list of best and worst states to live in, let's just say we fell on the "frowny-faced side."

The bright side of this news is that this is a list for 2016 and 2016 is almost over. This can only mean that we have a chance to change things in 2017. That being said, we didn't fair too well when it comes to the best and worst states to live in. The list was put together by 24/7 Wall Street taking all 50 states and ranked them from the best to the worst.

The site factored in population growth (hey, who like to be crowded anyway), unemployment rate, poverty rate and even life expectancy at birth, which basically means how long you are expected to live from the moment you are born (sounds a bit morbid when welcoming in a new baby).

There is some good news here... We're not the worst.

No, Mississippi took that spot. I find this interesting since we learned earlier this month that Mississippi is the most overweight state in the country. West Virginia came in at number 49. After that, it starts to go downhill quick for the Ark-La-Tex.

Louisiana came in at number 48 with Arkansas falling in line at number 47. We continue on this path of southern states before finally finding Texas coming in at number 33.

So, sure, we may not be the best places to live, but I'm willing to bet we are the happiest. After all, we have the best food, right?
