Are Madonna + William Orbit Feuding?

Even being on top of the world has its drawbacks. In this case we speak of the recent words posted by famed producer William Orbit regarding Madonna’s newest album titled ‘MDNA.’

For those of you who live in the woods, William is the man responsible for an immensely long line of hit albums and songs. In the past he’s worked with the likes of the Cure, Beck, Ricky Martin and, of course, the one and only queen of pop, Madonna.

Having produced Madonna’s crazily successful album ‘Ray of Light,’ William recently put up a recording of the album’s title track on YouTube. It’s slightly different from the one found on the album, having more guitar added into the tune. However, because of this a discussion broke out regarding the promotional strategy of Madonna’s new album — calling it a nonexistent one.

And so William took to the conversation, writing a long, long post about the recording of ‘MDNA,’ as well as the marketing strategy used.

“All I will say is that certain thoughts about it that I see expressed online by committed fans such as yourself, were blindingly obvious to me form the very get go, well before the release,” he said.

He then added, “We were very pushed for time, due to a rather interesting and shall we just say, ‘traditional’ method of recording that the esteemed engineer Demo was partial to, and various pressing commitments that took up the artists limited time, such as perfume ranges and teen fashion contests and other such endeavors which are beyond my own limited understanding of pop star agendas.”

Adding onto the comments, he spoke rather negatively about music marketing, claiming, “As co-producer, co-writer etc. am aware that it is not in my ‘job spec.’”

Later on, after writing the post, William took back to the feed to comment, “The MDNA comments. I should not have said them publicly. I see that and I regret that I said online. Not fair to M.”
