The Shreveport Fire and Police Department would like to remind and encourage all citizens not to discard lighted substances from your vehicles. With the extreme drought conditions, dry vegetation is ignited very easily leading to catastrophic consequences.

The Shreveport Fire Department responded to 747 Ratcliff at 2:37 pm for a reported house fire. Fire crews arrived on scene at 2:41 pm to find a two story brick apartment building with heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear and roof.

The Caddo Sheriff’s Office is currently working a gas line rupture on Ellerbe Road. Deputies say a pick-up truck was southbound on Ellerbe when the driver swerved to miss a dog. The driver lost control and hit an above-ground natural gas pipeline, rupturing the line.

Upon arrival, officers were advised two suspects, later identified as Gregg Miles and Anthony McCrady were still inside the residence refusing to come out. Shreveport Police K -9 officers initiated several verbal warnings to the suspects in an attempt to get them out of the residence, but received no response.
