Nothing like seeing pets wearing costumes can make all your worries go away.  A poodle in a hula skirt, a cat in a clown suit, all of them are guaranteed laughter and this coming Saturday, October 29, A.C. Steere Park will be overflowing with pets of all varieties, sporting their best costumes!

It's "Bark in the Park", a Maggie Lee for Good Event benefiting Pet Savers and Robinson’s Rescue.

Maggie Lee for Good Day is a celebration of kind deeds done in the memory of 12-year-old Shreveporter, Maggie Lee Henson, who died 7 years ago in the FBC Shreveport bus accident.

According to family friend, Lisa Folsom, "October 29 is Maggie Lee’s Birthday so every year we do creative and kind things to remember her.”

Along with a Pet costume contest at 11:30, there is a People Costume Fun Run at noon. Throw on your Halloween Costume and enjoy a lap around A.C.Steere. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes & quickest times. Registration is $7.50 and 100% of proceeds will go to Robinson’s Rescue for “Snip, Snip Scholarships.” Jinny Henson said.

“Pet Savers does GREAT work.  We are collecting canned pet food to help support what they do for NW Louisiana.” Said Pastor John Henson. “Several Schools have begun collecting. It will be interesting to see which school can donate the most.”
