Barksdale OSC Presents Shamrock Shuffle 5K on Saturday, March 5

Run, walk or shuffle this Saturday and support our troops at the same time.

It's time to get shufflin'... or, um... moving this Saturday. The Barksdale Officers' Spouses' Club is hosting a Shamrock Shuffle 5K at Marilynn's Place in Shreveport. The free half-mile fun run will kickoff at 8 a.m. with the 5K race following at 8:15. The race goes through the historic Highlands neighborhood. A new scenic route for this 5K.

Proceeds will go to the OSC's military child scholarship program and other military charities.

The Officer's Spouse's Club puts on the race to raise money for various programs. Last year, money raised was donated to Airman's Attic, Air Force Aid Society, the Boot Campaign, Fisher House, HAP House, and Patriot Paws.

Pre-registration through Friday, March 4 is $25. If you register on race day, the registration fee is $30. Registration can be done at www.sportspectrumusa.com.

Awards will be given to top finishers.
