Aaron Eckhart starring as a hardened - and misunderstood - Marine sargeant, leading his undermanned platoon against an alien invasion in 'Battle: Los Angeles', filmed right here in Shreveport....my favorite 'made in Shreveport' movie!

Who would ever think that a stretch of Linwood Avenue could be transformed into downtown LA, palm trees and all, and that on that same stretch of road Marine Sargeant Michael Nantz (Eckhart) and his brave charges could take on an enemy from another planet...and win!

The filming, by the way, took place from September to December 2009. The film was premiered in theaters nationwide in the United States on March 11, 2011 grossing $83,552,429 in domestic ticket receipts. It earned an additional $128,266,925 through international release to top out at a combined $211,819,354!. With its 'mere' $70 million budget the film was, no doubt, a major box office success.
