Heisman winner Jameis Winston goes for Florida State’s third national championship against Auburn’s team of destiny.

The game is on ESPN at 7:30 tonight.

How They Got Here

Florida State had an amazing season, blasting by all but one opponent by more than 27 points.  The Seminoles easily won the ACC championship to cap off their first undefeated season since 1999. Auburn did not have such an easy road. In fact, many fans will say Auburn had some really lucky breaks to make it to the championship game. Trailing Georgia 38-37 with just thirty seconds left, Auburn got a tipped-ball Hail Mary for a 73-yard touchdown to steal the victory. They followed that up the next week with the most exciting finish in college football history: a 109-yard return of a missed Alabama field goal with no time left to win the Iron Bowl. Finally, they rolled over Missouri in the SEC title game.

I will be watching freshman phenom Jameis Winston who ran away with the Heisman trophy after setting NCAA freshman records with 3,820 passing yards and 38 touchdowns. But you can not discount the Tigers’ running game which leads the nation averaging 335.7 rushing yards per game. But we know the LSU Tigers beat Auburn 35-21 back in November, so it will be nice for LSU Tiger fans to be able to say "we beat the National Champs".
