Bells will be ringing this weekend!  International dignitaries will be visiting St. Mark's Cathedral, host of this year's Southern Cross Ringing Festival and Competition.  This year's event is named for Miss Marie Cross, a member of the Oxford Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers, whose dedicated instruction at towers in Texarkana, Little Rock and Houston created a lasting legacy in this region.

St. Mark's Tower Captain Candace Higginbotham says there will be lots of workshops and activities throughout the weekend -- and quarter peals will be rung each day, with tomorrow's being in honor of the royal wedding in England.  She says you're welcome to stop by the church's Family Courtyard to listen -- and if you want to learn the art of change ringing, just contact St. Mark's to find out how you can.
