Bossier City K-9 Bites Toddler During Police Chase

A police chase on Saturday night led to multiple charges for a felon, and a trip to the hospital for a young girl.

Approximately 9:30pm on Saturday night, Bossier Police attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by Trevier Perez Williams, a 26-year-old from Shreveport. Williams is a felon, who had a warrant out for him in Shreveport on domestic abuse charges. As police attempted to stop Williams' vehicle, he refused to stop, and led them on a chase into Shreveport.

Once Williams arrived at the Stone Vista Apartments, in the 500 block of East Stoner Ave, he and a second suspect fled from the car. While on the run, police observed Williams throwing a gun to the ground in an attempt to hide it from officers.

As a Bossier City K-9 Officer and his dog were pursuing Williams on foot through the neighborhood, the dog knocked Williams down in proximity to a 4-year-old girl. When Williams got back up to continue to run away, the dog bit the young girl. Her injuries were sufficient enough to require the Shreveport Fire Department to rush her to a local hospital. There has been no update on the condition of the young girl.

Williams was eventually caught by officers, and taken into custody. Police were able to recover the firearm he threw, as well as illegal drugs, plastic bags, and a scale. Officers were unable to locate his passenger, but were able to a second firearm, believed to have been in the passenger's possession.

Once at the Bossier City Jail, Williams was booked on aggravated flight from officers, resisting an officer, possession of schedule I of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) with the intent to distribute, possession of schedule I of a controlled dangerous substance (ecstasy pills), illegal carrying of a firearm, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without headlights and no driver’s license charges.
