Following a two-day trial, a Bossier City man is found guilty of two counts of distributing Schedule I and II narcotics.

The Bossier/Webster DA's Office says during the investigation, the Bossier Combined Narcotics Task Force was able to capture audio and video of drug transactions that took place on different days in 2013 and that involved the sale of synthetic marijuana and crack cocaine. The sales were made at Billy Gene Jackson's townhouse on Orleans Avenue.

Assistant District Attorney Doug Stinson prosecuted the case.

"The task force officers should be commended for their work and Doug did a great job presenting this case to the jury," said Bossier/Webster District Attorney Schuyler Marvin. "We are pleased that this drug dealer is off the streets and is no longer able to peddle his poison in Bossier."

Jackson will be sentenced November 2. He faces up to 30 years in prison and a possible fine of up to $50,000. He could face more jail time if he's also prosecuted as a habitual felon.

"We do plan to file a habitual offender bill against Mr. Jackson," Stinson said. "The Bossier District Attorney's Office recognizes the destruction illegal drugs cause and we will prosecute drug dealers when they choose to commit these crimes in Bossier Parish."
