PRESS RELEASE - The Bossier City Police Department is currently accepting applications for jailers. The starting pay for this position is $32,796 per year. Candidates are also eligible for state supplemental pay of $500 per month after they complete one year on the job.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and successfully pass a civil service test as well as medical, psychological and physical fitness exams, possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license and have completed a standard high school education or equivalent.

Bossier City police department employees are offered medical and dental coverage with optional dependent coverage available. Other benefits include paid vacation days, paid holidays, military leave and sick leave.

The deadline to submit an application is September 16, 2015. After turning in an application, approved candidates will be notified by the Bossier City Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board via U.S. mail of the date and location of a civil service exam that they must take. Notification will be at least five days prior to the examination. Once applicants receive their test scores from the civil service board, the Bossier City Police Department will contact each qualified candidate.
