Brian Crawford was approved as Shreveport's Chief Administrative Officer. He comes home to Shreveport from Plano, Texas where he's been the fire chief.

The council ok'd Crawford's appointment on 7-0 vote. Crawford addressed the Shreveport City Council telling them he will hold all department heads accountable. He looks forward to working with Mayor Ollie Tyler. KEEL News asked Crawford who will actually be running the city. His response:

I did not come back to Shreveport to work for Mayor Ollie Tyler and let her just cut ribbons. She's not that type of person. She is very much in charge of the city. My job is to ensure the organizational efficiency and fiscal effectiveness to carry off her vision.

Crawford previously served as assistant CAO a couple of years ago. He says a top priority is to make sure the citizens get as much as possible from the city's budget.

The council also approved William Bradford Jr as deputy city attorney.
