Around Christmas time, the spirit of giving is strong and Bristol's Babies is asking you to give a little more this week!

Generally, I'd be posting a photo and story about a pet that's available for adoption locally. This week, I'm asking for your help. The Krewe of Barkus and Meoux in cooperation with Nova's Heart is looking for donation for the pets of our area homeless and less fortunate. All items that are left over, if any, will go to Nova's Heart to help care for these pets into 2018.

This is the third they've hosted this drive and it keeps getting bigger every year, but they still need your help! Donation items needed include: Dry and moist dog and cat food, pet treats, blankets, bottled water, pet clothing (all sizes), flea collars, flea shampoo, kennels, gallon-sized zip lock bags and pet toys.

Donations are being accepted through December 19, 2017 with distribution Wednesday, December 20th in downtown Shreveport at 4:30pm in the parking lot behind First United Methodist Church.

Donations can be dropped off at The UPS Store at 1214 Shreveport-Barksdale Hwy in Shreveport, at Nabors Insurance at 7951 Fern Avenue in Shreveport and at the Little House of Groom, 112 Rosemont Place in Bossier City.

We got the chance to talk to Tresa Frye from Barkus and Meoux this morning. She says if you have any questions, you can call (318) 294-3977.
