Over the weekend, my husband and I got together with some friends and went to Memphis. Yes, there was a lot of Elvis memorabilia, but I found it interesting that lots of things seemed to have a Louisiana flair on Beale Street... from Mardi Gras masks and beads to the Cajun cuisine on the menus. So that begs the question, why do people like to pick on Louisiana while they try to emulate us? Are we the equivalent of a one night stand?

Either way, we had a blast in Memphis! We saw the ducks at the Peabody Hotel, saw people dance in the street to the Cupid Shuffle (Louisiana once again ya'll!) and dined at BB King's Blues Club! We even saw Webster!

Check out some of the pictures from our trip. Yes, I'm a horrible tourist and should have taken tons more!
