A Michigan man accused of molesting two underage daughters of a family friend was convicted in less than an hour by a Caddo Parish Jury Thursday evening.

Roy Arlen Van Nortrick, 42, was found guilty of charges that he repeatedly sexually abused the two victims, both under age 13 at the time, in 2009 and 2010. The five-woman, seven-man jury returned the guilty verdict after about an hour of deliberating.
Van Nortrick was accused of sexually abusing the girls repeatedly when he lived in Caddo Parish. He was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Task Force in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, in late October 2013 and extradited to Caddo Parish the following month, originally charged with two counts of aggravated rape. He had no prior convictions, prosecutors said.
He's due back in court on February 29th. He could be sentenced to 40 years in prison.
