Caddo Parish Superintendent Search to Start from Scratch
After months of searching and more time arguing, Caddo schools have an interim superintendent: Dr. Mary Nash Robinson.
Unfortunately, the search for the true superintendent has hit a snag.
WHY SHE WITHDREW
Dr. Mary Nash Robinson has decided to withdraw her name as a candidate, but she has accepted the job as interim superintendent. Why did she decide to go in this direction?
“I thought this decision would help move the process along. So on behalf of the parents, students, and employees I withdrew my name,” she said. “The troops needed direction – let’s move on.”
ON JOHN DILWORTH
The search process begins again and it’s expected to take 90 days. We asked Robinson her opinion about the other finalist, John Dilworth. “He would be an excellent candidate…I have worked for him in the past,” Robinson said. “Should the board select him, I would be honored to work with him again.”
ON FINDING A NEW LEADER AT THIS TIME OF YEAR
We asked the new interim superintended if it will be difficult to find a new superintendent now that the new school year is beginning and most of the top educators have jobs.
“They made it tougher to find a leader, no doubt about that,” she conceded, adding that she’s willing to serve until a new leader is in place and could also stay on as Chief of Staff. That outcome will depend on the board’s final selection.
