We truly have some of the finest men and women looking out for us in Northwest Louisiana. Our first responders are top notch and would be welcomed by any community in the nation, but we're blessed to have them call NWLA home.

And now, another of our finest is being recognized for his efforts. According to the information we received from the Caddo Sheriff's Department, Caddo Sheriff's Detective Jared Marshall received the First Responder Award from the Knights of Columbus this past Wednesday night.

The organization sought to recognize a deputy who sets an example for others and exhibits a superior work performance. Marshall joined the Sheriff's Office in 2004 and has worked in Security at Caddo Correctional Center and in Youth Services/Investigations.

In addition to serving as a Youth Services detective, he is an investigator on the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force. He is an advocate for children and has successfully investigated and arrested numerous suspects for crimes against youths.

Congratulations Detective Marshall and Thank You for your service!
