Saturday is Flag Day.  So the Caddo Sheriff’s Office is collecting unserviceable flags to be retired by the American Legion Post 14 that day.

You can turn in your old flags at the sheriff’s north substation in Highway 1 in Oil City, the south substation on Mansfield Road in Keithville, or the central substation on North Market. Flags will be accepted until noon Friday.

Then, they’ll be turned over to the American Legion so they can be retired with respect and honorable rites during the annual Flag Day ceremony at one o’clock Saturday afternoon.  The public is invited to attend the ceremony at the post’s facilities on South Lakeshore Drive.
