In the latest poll - and the first after last Thursday's first Republican debate - Donald Trump has increased his lead over his GOP challengers.

And candidates headed in the wrong direction? Chris Christie and Jeb Bush.

The poll, conducted in an NBC News online survey, found that the billionaire businessman is up to 23%, increasing his lead by one point.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz showed the biggest push, coming in second with 13%, an increase on seven points. Dr. Ben Carson is third, gaining three points to 11%.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio and ex-Hewlitt Packard CEO Carly Fiorina are tied in fourth spot  at 8%, but Fiorina was up from a pre-debate 2%.

Jeb Bush and Scott Walker are at 7%, both down three. Chris Christie dropped two pints, falling to a mere 1%.
