Cassadee Pope Is ‘Torn’ Over Which Coach to Choose on ‘The Voice’

Finally, the most hyped up audition of ‘The Voice‘ has arrived to close out the Tuesday night blind auditions with a huge bang in the form of Cassadee Pope.

Sounds familiar, right? Pope was the lead singer of the band Hey Monday, a band discovered by Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz after hearing one of their demos. She, along with the band, have toured with the likes of Fall Out Boy, All Time Low and the Cab, just to name a few, but now Pope was venturing out on her own at an attempt at a solo career.

With the band on hiatus, it was the perfect time for her to audition for a show like this. “It’s a nervous-ready feeling. I’m definitely at a point in my life where I’m ready to make it on my own,” she said of leaving her band behind during her interview. “I’m most nervous about playing in front of tese four incredible artists who I respect so much.”

Within seconds of her rendition of Natalie Imbruglia’s ‘Torn,’ Pope was able to get Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Christina Aguilera to turn around, but Cee Lo Green wasn’t too far behind and clearly didn’t want to miss out on an opportunity of this magnitude as four chairs were now turned around.

“That was well executed,” said Aguilera of her performance. “You can kind of do it all.”

“You reacted physically, but you didn’t falter,” said Levine of Pope’s reaction to seeing all four coaches turn around. Of course, being that all four coaches turned around, they argued tooth and nail for Pope, who stood on stage, politely thanking each coach.

So who’d Cassadee Pope choose? Blake! A bit of a shock for the former frontwoman of a pop-rock band … almost as shocked as we were to see a performance so pitchy earn four turns. PR plant, anyone?
