Last night, following their children's parade at Pierre Bossier Mall, the Krewe of Aesclepius hosted the annual Upstate Party at their den. All of the area krewes are invited to attend this last hurrah to the Mardi Gras season before the final closing ceremonies with Father Provenza on the Texas Street Bridge.
These days, it seems like dogs are getting more and more into the dressing like a human game. That or we're just getting more obsessed with clothing our canines in mini versions of stuff we wear. (The latter is true.) Either way, there are zero complaints on our end, because the results are just so stinkin' cute.
Madonna is now on Instagram. It's a surprising move by the Material Girl -- not because of the recent brouhaha over the Facebook-owned photo app, but because we're shocked she wasn't already a member.
Everyone was expecting sexpot Rihanna to thumb her nose and flash a two-fingered salute to the memo that warned against showing too much skin (since that's one of her specialties) by wearing a flesh-baring outfit. But RiRi actually covered up quite a at the 2013 Grammys.
That in and of itself shocked us. But her red hot dress, with its long, flowing train, was a stunner. Credit where it's due: She looked gorgeous.
Whoa. At first, you would've have thought that diva and glam goddess Jennifer Lopez didn't heed the Grammys warning about the dress code -- which advised against side boobs, butt cracks and nip slips -- because the diva showed some serious leg.
But hey, as she pointed out, the rules said nothing about leg.
That lovely British songbird Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine realizes she has to often dress for her flame-hued hair. Green is always a safe choice, so she rocked a slinky, second-skin, emerald green Givenchy gown at the 2013 Grammys.
But the shiny fabric with the "horns" sticking out everywhere made it look like she donned a cartoon dinosaur skin.
Taylor Swift wore a cream-colored J. Mendel gown to the red carpet of the 2013 Grammys. The singer, serial dater and possible Carrie Underwood nemesis has worn white, cream and champagne-hued gowns lately, so no surprises there.

Dogs have it good these days. Like, really good. They're gaining all sorts of attention just for being fashionable or looking like a human. How do they do it? We haven't the slightest clue. All we know is these days they're gaining more casual fame by being photographed in their owner's backpacks like it's no biggie (and it's ridiculously cute).
It's almost time for everyone's (least) favorite holiday -- Valentine's Day! But before you resign yourself to watching 'Marley & Me' and eating soup straight out of the can, learn these facts! At least that way you can feel like you're not completely worthless because you're still capable of learning. That should help. That, and ice cream.
Confession time: During my first few weeks living in Louisiana last summer, I thought a co-worker had misspelled the word "crew" when I saw it written as "krewe." She still (rightfully) teases me about it to this day. I was a stranger in a strange land, a Yankee from New Jersey living in the south.
This weekend, I guess you could say I officially become a Southerner by riding on a float during my first Louisiana Mardi Gras.
