More bad news for CeeLo Green! Joan Jett will replace him at the upcoming Gretna Heritage Festival in October.

After making several controversial comments about rape on twitter, CeeLo Green (Thomas DeCarlo Callaway) was dropped from the festival.  Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will headline the event in Louisiana on October 5th.

Officials from the Gretna Heritage Festival explained that CeeLo was booted from the concert series because of tweets that he posted last week where he tried to defend himself against rape allegations.

Jefferson Parish councilman and festival co-chair Ricky Templet, said that “CeeLo’s comments are not acceptable.”

This was a bad weekend for the singer. He not only learned that he was being replaced by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, the 39-year-old was also dumped by the United States Navy for their forthcoming benefit concert scheduled for September 20 in Washington, D.C.

In a statement the United States Navy said that they no longer want to be associated to the “No One’s Gonna Love You” singer because “the comments posted on social media by Mr. CeeLo Green were completely inconsistent with Navy core values.”

The statement went on to say:

“Unfortunately, one of the performers we signed for the JBAB Freedom Live show on 20 September recently posted comments on social media that we consider to completely inconsistent with Navy core values. Regardless of intent or context, the lack of sensitivity towards an issue that is one of the great challenges facing our Navy is unacceptable.”
