Tired of all those sappy animal cruelty ads starring singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan? Think those ads need a change of tune? Actress Charlize Theron seems to think so

The beautiful Oscar-winner agrees with the rest of us that McLachlan is a bit of a “Debbie Downer,” and the ads could use some pepping up. So, using her cellphone, Theron recorded an audition tape with the help of her dogs (and the pranksters at Funny or Die) to show the ASPCA why she needs to be the new spokesperson against animal cruelty.

Theron sure loves animals, doesn’t she? Because we know this video is just for fun, seeing her order her animals around is pretty amusing. But trying to stuff a dog inside a bag? We’d like to think this is one of those videos where they needed to be clear that “no animals were harmed in the making of this film.”

The video is part of Funny or Die’s April Fool’s Day prank, which featured “leaked” videos from Theron’s “hacked” phone. Does it measure up to other website’s celebrity pranks?
