State Treasurer John Kennedy will have folks at Mall St. Vincent Saturday to help citizens search for more than $700 million in Unclaimed Property, according to State Treasurer John Kennedy.

Kennedy says "we have more than $43 million in Unclaimed Property for people and businesses in Caddo and Bossier parishes alone. We want to get this money back to you."

You will find employees in the Center Court of the mall right next to the turtle pond from 10am-3pm to help check to see if the state is holding some money that belongs to you.

You should bring a valid photo ID and Social Security card to get the ball rolling on making your claim.

The average claim usually includes old savings and checking accounts, payroll checks, CDs, stocks and dividends, insurance proceeds, oil and gas royalty payments, utility deposits and similar funds. Since 1972, the Unclaimed Property Program has returned more than $407 million to more than 620,000 Louisiana citizens.

If you can't make it to the event at the mall, you can check your name online right here.
