Police are investigating a vehicle crash that claimed the life of a little boy in Shreveport’s Highland neighborhood this afternoon.
                                                
At approximately 3:40 p.m. on October 2, 2014, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 100 block of East Prospect Street relative to major crash. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a SUV operated by an adult female was apparently pulling forward in the driveway of a home there when the vehicle struck a two year old male child.
The toddler was transported to University Health, where he was later pronounced deceased. The driver voluntarily accompanied authorities to the Shreveport Police Complex to undergo mandatory testing for impairment.  The child's name is not being released at this time pending appropriate notifications.
 
Crash investigators responded to the scene and are working at this hour to determine exactly what caused this crash.
