A woman who managed a Shreveport convenience store is accused of stealing nearly $37,000 from the business.

40-year-old Shemekia Parker worked at the Circle K in the 800 block of Olive Street, where she was responsible for preparing daily deposits. Parker is accused of manipulating accounting records in an attempt to conceal the theft.

Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Bobby Herring said the thefts in late January. During a surprise audit, Parker was asked for two missing deposits. When she went to her car to retrieve the deposits, she fled, never returning to the store.

Parker was located Monday at her new place of employment - a store on North Market Street. She is charged with felony theft.
