An error that caused the city of Shreveport to undercharge thousands of residents on their water bill has led to a major investigation and extortion. Mayor Ollie Tyler says that the error cost the city roughly $1 Million, but the problem was corrected as soon as it was brought to her attention.

She went on to say that some tried to blackmail the city over the error; demanding $1.8 million in cash and city contracts. Tyler said that she will not allow the city to be extorted and she will provide a complete account of the situation once the investigation is complete.
