Could Camp Minden Become a Permanent Burn Site?

Explosive Service International has expressed interest in making Camp Minden a permanent hazardous waste disposal site. Jason Poe, Vice President of ESI, says that the burn chamber has been proven to be a safe way to dispose of hazardous waste and would not effect the local community.

However, residents who live in the area are completely opposed to the idea. The Camp Minden Citizens Advisory Group has vowed to fight the proposal tooth and nail. ESI would need a new contract to make the burn chamber a permanent fixture at Camp Minden.
