We had the pleasure of interviewing Fred LeBlanc, maniacal drummer and lead singer from Cowboy Mouth ahead of the band's Friday, June 6 show at The Stage at Silver Star in Bossier City.

Fred educated us on exactly what to expect at the band's high-energy show.

Louisiana Love

Despite being based out of New Orleans, Fred explained that a focus for the band has always been northern Louisiana.

"The day we started we've always concentrated on north Louisiana as well as south Louisiana," LeBlanc said. "I think it's rare that the rest of the state has finally caught up to how awesome and what's happening in north Louisiana. I've always said, 'It's really happening up there, you guys need to not be snobby about it.'"

New Music

LeBlanc also touched on his new album, "Go," and new single, "Do You Want to Do It Right Now."

"It's one of the catchier songs that I've written in a long time," he said, adding: "With a title like that, you're just kind of asking for trouble."

"Life's to be enjoyed, not endured." -- Fred LeBlanc, Cowboy Mouth

What a Cowboy Mouth show is really like

"A Cowboy Mouth show is basically all about celebration. Whatever's bothering you, whatever's bringing you down, you should let that crap go," said LeBlanc. "It's like what I call a rock and roll safe place. A bit of an exorcism, orgasm, everything all rolled into one."
