DeSoto Parish Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle and his deputies thank the community for their acts of kindness recently.

After the tragedies involving law enforcement officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, DeSoto deputies have noticed an increase of positive comments and visitors to the office.

In the last few weeks, they've gotten visits from Mary Evergreen Baptist Church D.I.V.A.S., who delivered water; We Care Daycare and its children, members and children at Beulah Baptist Church; and Jennifer Moore and her children Brantley and Landry -- representing Cathey Acres -- who delivered goodie bags to office staff and deputies.

In addition, Central School hosted a Blue Out softball game, First Community Church and Christ Memorial Episcopal Church provided lunch, and Marketplace Chevrolet Buick brought cookies from Holy Angels.

Deputies have received thank-yous while eating lunch or filling up patrol units, and they want everyone to know that the comments and kind acts do not go unnoticed.
