Multiple Bossier Parish public safety agencies will conduct a joint emergency disaster exercise on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 on the campus of Bossier Parish Community College, 6220 East Texas Street in Bossier City beginning at 9 a.m.

There will be a large number of emergency response vehicles on or near the college associated with this drill. The public is advised not to be alarmed, as this is only a drill. In conjunction with the exercise, Bossier Parish schools will conduct a crisis lockdown drill on all of its school campuses.

The Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is conducting this exercise in conjunction with BPCC in an effort to enhance joint response and readiness procedures for Bossier Parish first responders.

BPCC students and volunteers from several non-profit agencies will serve as actors in this exercise. Classes will not be in session at BPCC on the day of the exercise as the campus will be closed in recognition of the Louisiana state holiday of Mardi Gras.

The public is asked to avoid the BPCC campus from 8:00 am to noon on the day of the exercise. East Texas Street will remain open to vehicular traffic while the exercise is underway however a perimeter will be in place to prohibit sight-seers from getting close to the BPCC campus.
