A new political dynasty might be coming soon, a political dynasty that could rival famed Louisiana families like the Longs and the Edwards: The Robertsons. That's right, the Robertsons of 'Duck Dynasty' fame!

National office up for grabs

Key Republican leaders right here in Louisiana are already wooing one of the hit show's stars, Willie Robertson, to run for the seat being given up by retiring Republican Rep. Rodney Alexander.

Alexander, expressing frustration with divided government, is coming back home to work in Gov. Bobby Jindal's cabinet. He will leave at the end of next month, then a special election will be held to fill the open seat.

He represents the 5th District, including Monroe, La., home to the group headed by Robertson, the game call and hunting companies Duck Commander and Buck Commander. Alexander and his staff are also friendly with the Robertson family, especially Willie.

The next Schwarzenegger?

Robertson is famous for the TV hit 'Duck Dynasty' on A&E about the family business, in which he is known for his fun loving personality, as well as his outspoken Christian beliefs. He has also self-described himself as a 'redneck millionaire.'

GOP officials said while there is an interest in getting Robertson to run, they express concern that he may not want to leave the TV show and top job in the family business. Said one GOP official, 'Why would a multi-millionaire, TV sensation give up that work to run for a congressional seat?'

Neither the Willie, the Robertson family or A&E network has commented on the possibility of a political run.
