Winter has come for Ed Sheeran's Twitter account, but it's not because of his appearance on Game of Thrones.

The singer responded to rumors about his abrupt departure from the social media site (he deactivated his account late Monday night, a day after his cameo on the hit HBO show) with a cheeky Instagram message posted on Wednesday, June 19.

"Last i'll say on this. I came off Twitter Coz I was always intending to come off Twitter, had nothing to do with what people said about my game of thrones cameo, because I am in game of thrones, why the hell would I worry what people thought about that," he wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of him and his manager holding hands in a parking lot.

"It's clearly f---in' awesome. Timing was just a coincidence, but believe what you want," Sheeran continued. "Here is an unrelated picture of me and my wonderful manager riding off into the sunset together."
