El Chico Restaurant In Madison Park Closes
One of Shreveport's oldest and best known restaurants has closed it's doors.
The El Chico Mexican restaurant on Fern Avenue in Madison Park served its last customers Sunday. As of yesterday workers had begun removing the sign that had adorned the location in the small strip mall since the late 1980s.
The two other El Chico restaurants on Bert Kouns and Greenwood remain open and close to 100 currently operate in seven states across the South.
The El Chico corporation, which operated the now defunct location, said the Fern Avenue employees will be continue to be employed at its other Shreveport restaurants.
