This is the day I have been dreading. My oldest son leaves for the U.S. Marines today. He is headed to basic training in South Carolina for 13 weeks. It's very bittersweet for me. I am, of course, a proud Mom; but I will be so worried about him. Is he mentally prepared for what is about to happen to him. We shall see. My Dad was also a decorated Marine who served during WWII and he would be so proud of his grandson.
Thanks for the comments today:

Kathy: "Best of luck to JW!! I will add him (and you) to my prayer list." To my son, Jeri says: "That will be the hardest job you will ever have. Have fun enjoy the traveling."

I look forward to his graduation from boot camp and discovering what his future holds. More messages today from my Facebook page:

Michelle says "watching our son take his oath and telling him good bye was one of the hardest things I have ever done - and the proudest!" Linda says: "Praying for your new adventure in life. We will take care of your Mom for you. Thank you for your service JW."

Please keep my son in your prayers and lift up one for me if you don't mind.
