If ever a movie premise seemed like it might prove too singular for TV , Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind might be it. That isn’t going to stop Anonymous Content from trying, however, developing a series adaptation of the 2004 mindbender that starred Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, original producer Steve Golin has in mind to adapt Eternal Sunshine into a TV series with Universal Cable Productions, with Chuck writer Zev Borrow nearing a deal to write the script. Original scribe Charlie Kaufman is understandably not involved.

The original 2004 version followed Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet as a couple in the process of erasing the memories of their failed relationship, boasting support cast the likes of Mark Ruffalo, Kirsten Dunst, Tom Wilkinson, Elijah Wood and more. The film scored an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for Charlie Kaufman, Michel Gondry and Pierre Bismuth.

It could be some time yet before the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind series moves forward, but how might the story end up re-worked for a longform approach? Watch the original trailer below.
