Volunteers for Youth Justice (VYJ) is hosting the second annual Battle of the Gumbo Gladiators, a gumbo cook-off fundraiser to help abused, neglected and at-risk children throughout Northwest Louisiana. Approximately 1,600 people attended our inaugural event in 2013, with 24 teams cooking 31 pots of gumbo. It was a smashing success! Groups interested in registering a team may do so on our website, www.gumbogladiators.com before March 22. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. Admission to the cook-off is free. Samples of gumbo will be available for purchase the day of the event.
