“Civil Legal Remedies for Sexual Assault Survivors”
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Available!
One out of five women and one out of twenty men are sexually assaulted in Texas. Yet the high rates of victimization are not reflected in statistics for many reasons. Regardless of whether a criminal prosecution is pursued, a survivor of sexual violence may have many outstanding legal needs that a criminal court cannot adequately address. This workshop will identify the variety of areas where sexual assault survivors may seek civil legal assistance including: privacy, safety, finances, housing, employment, education, citizenship status or crime victims’ rights.
Attend this training to learn about victims’ rights and the important legal options and resources for victims of sexual assault.
Training is sponsored by SAFE-T and by Sexual Assault Legal Services and Assistance (SALSA). Continuing education units will be available for attorneys (CLE), law enforcement (TCOLE, formerly TCLEOSE), LPCs and social workers.
Please let us know you are coming and register your attendance to this training! For further inquires about this free training, please email SALSA PR & Marketing Coordinator Amber Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
