The Ouachita County Historical Society along with Poison Spring State Park is sponsoring the 152nd anniversary of the Battle of Poison Spring State Park. The event will be Friday and Saturday April 15th and 16th at Poison Spring Battleground Park on Highway 76 outside of Camden, Arkansas.

Soldiers will camp at the battleground site Friday and Saturday. Friday will be a school day with educational stations for students to experience life as a soldier during the Civil War. Sutlers, the purveyors of all things necessary for the soldier’s life will be camped in the park and vendors will be available both days for refreshments. Saturday at 1:30 a re-enactment of the battle will be held. The Camp will be open for visitors before and after the battle from 9:00 until 4:30. A vintage Dance will be held Saturday evening with instructors to teach dances of the era. Come in Costume or not and enjoy an evening of fun. Vendors will be available for visitors to have dinner in this beautiful park while we dance the evening away.
