Former Parkway star Seth Lugo has been promoted to the New York Mets from their Triple A Las Vegas minor league team. Lugo, a right handed pitcher, had a 3-4 record for the 51s, appearing in 19 games.

The 26-year-old Lugo is a graduate of Bossier City's Parkway High. He also pitched at the college level for the Centenary Gents.

Lugo, who was both a starting pitcher and reliever for Las Vegas, is expected to fill the same role for the Mets, coming out the bullpen, with spot appearances as a starter.

Lugo has played in the Mets organization since being drafted by that team in 2011. He missed the entire 2012 season with a spinal injury.
